The Big Switch Off: Is Your Business Ready for the PSTN Switch Off 2027?

August 11, 2026

For some time now we’ve been encouraging our clients to review their telecoms ahead of the PSTN Switch Off. A comment we’ve heard many times is “if it’s really happening, why haven’t I seen anything about it?”  That’s now easier to answer.

Openreach has just launched its Big Switch Off campaign, urging businesses to “Review, Test and Switch”

Our view is simple. That review stage should not be left too late. It’s not just about your desk phones; it’s lift lines, alarm lines, door entry systems and other legacy lines quietly doing a job in the background.  Leaving this too late can mean rushed decisions, limited availability, and increased costs. Don’t just take our word for it, here is a link to Openreach’s announcement:

The PSTN Switch Off deadline is 31 January 2027.

If you’re responsible for multiple lines, buildings or sites and you’re not completely sure what is still connected to the PSTN, we can help you review what you have, identify what needs attention and put a practical migration in place.
