How Our Team Chose a Climate Project to Support – And Why It Matters

June 17, 2025

Climate project support is at the heart of our sustainability work. As part of our ongoing commitment, we’ve been actively tracking and reducing our carbon footprint through Sage Earth, achieving an average reduction of 6% year on year.

Alongside internal efforts, we support verified carbon avoidance and removal initiatives through Ecologi. As part of that journey, we invited our team to vote on which climate project to support next.

What Climate Project Options Were Considered?

We shortlisted four impactful projects:

  1. Rainforest protection and habitat restoration
  2. Regenerative agriculture – storing carbon in healthy soil
  3. Clean cookstoves in Uganda – reducing emissions and protecting health
  4. Mangrove restoration in Pakistan – supporting biodiversity and coastlines

Each of these plays a role in supporting long-term climate resilience.

The Winning Climate Project

Rainforest protection and habitat restoration was the clear winner. This nature-based carbon avoidance project not only prevents deforestation but also supports endangered species.

Clean cookstoves in Uganda came in a close second, reflecting strong team support for carbon-saving projects with social impact.

Why Team-Driven Climate Project Support Matters

We believe that climate action is a shared responsibility and involving our team in climate project support makes sustainability a shared value. It brings the purpose behind our carbon reduction goals into everyday decision-making and keeps everyone invested in the impact we’re making.

Results from Our Climate Action So Far

We’re proud that the carbon we’ve helped avoid so far is equivalent to:

  • 23 long-haul flights
  • 90 square metres of sea ice preserved
  • 74,430 miles driven in a car

These small steps all add up to make a big difference over time.

What’s Next?

We’ll continue involving our team in future climate project support decisions and aim to increase our sustainability engagement each year. Keep an eye on the news section of our website for further updates.
